A reverse-pull face mask is to be worn a minimum of 12-14 hours every day in order to be effective. The face mask is designed to bring the entire upper arch forward. Elastics attached to the upper teeth or appliances will provide a forward force to the arch. Occasionally, the patient will perspire excessively when the face mask is worn. Place tissues in the areas against the face and the perspiring will stop. Please do not try to remedy the problem by drilling holes in the rests for air circulation.  If the perspiring persists or the patient is allergic to acrylic, cloth liners or tissue liners can be used.
